Everyday AI — Practical Examples — Reference at the Point of Need

Concepts when you need them

Context is the information the assistant needs for this task: purpose, audience, source material and constraints. An instruction asks it to do something; a source supports a factual claim. Plan critique asks whether the approach fits. Result critique asks whether the output meets the purpose. A fluent answer can still contain unsupported facts. Your decision after critique is part of the work.

A worked distinction

Example: a resume bullet sounds stronger after the assistant adds a percentage you never supplied. Reject the number; ask it to show the real action and result without inventing measurement. Carry the correction into your master resume, not a compulsory prompt log.

Return to the work

Use the concept to make a concrete check or decision in your current artifact. If it does not help, return to the task rather than collecting terminology. Ask your assistant to explain an unfamiliar term using your example, then check the explanation against the source or observed behavior.
