Product Thinking — Reference at the Point of Need

Concepts when you need them

An outcome is a useful change for someone; a feature is one possible means. A user story describes a need and its reason. Acceptance checks describe observable success and relevant failure cases. A roadmap communicates priorities and learning; it need not invent dates. Unknown scores stay unknown. Tradeoffs are choices between benefits, costs and risks under constraints.

A worked distinction

Example: two users want faster reporting, but one needs an audit trail and the other wants a quick estimate. Preserve the difference. Prioritize a bounded outcome with a clear check; do not claim everyone agreed because the generated story sounds reasonable.

Return to the work

Use the concept to make a concrete check or decision in your current artifact. If it does not help, return to the task rather than collecting terminology. Ask your assistant to explain an unfamiliar term using your example, then check the explanation against the source or observed behavior.
